LONDON digital visual effects facility Mill Film have picked up an Oscar at the 73rd Academy Awards for ‘Best Visual Effects’ for ‘Gladiator’.
Tim Burke, Mill Film’s Visual Effects Supervisor on ‘Gladiator’, John Nelson, Overall Effects Supervisor, Neil Corbould, Physical Effects Supervisor and Rob Harvey picked up the award at The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
Ridley Scott’s epic ‘Gladiator’ picked up an impressive five awards at this year’s ceremony including ‘Best Movie’ and ‘Best Actor’ for Russell Crowe.
Mill Film have recently completed work on a number of high profile films including Ridley Scott’s ‘Hannibal’, Lasse Hallstrom’s ‘Chocolat’ and Taylor Hackford’s ‘Proof of Life’.
The London-based effects house are currently working on a raft of exciting projects including Paramount’s ‘Tomb Raider’, Warner Bros’ ‘Harry Potter’ and the Sorcerer’s Stone, animal caper ‘Like Cats And Dogs’, Columbia Pictures ‘A Knight’s Tale’, Kathryn Bigelow’s K-19: ‘The Widowmaker’, Michael Apted’s ‘Enigma’ and ‘Pluto Nash’ starring Eddie Murphy.
