About the course

This course offers a 15-week comprehensive journey into rigging for visual effects, blending theoretical knowledge with hands-on practice.

Students begin with an introduction to rigging tools and transformations, mastering basic concepts like naming conventions and parent-child relationships. They progress to advanced topics such as set-driven keys, attribute editing, and constraints, gaining proficiency in precise object control and animation.

Practical activities, including boat animation and object attachment, provide realworld application of learned techniques. With expert guidance from Technicolor instructors, students refine their skills in skeleton layout, skinning, and final asset rendering.

By the course’s end, participants emerge equipped with the expertise to excel in rigging for visual effects in the entertainment industry.

Recommended skills

  • Basic understanding of Maya.
  • Basic knowledge of rigging concepts.
  • Knowledge of basic coding is an advantage but not required.
  • A basic understanding of anatomy.
