Webinar on Matchmove with Technicolor Creative Studios Academy

Mohit Walia, Trainer at the Technicolor Creative Studios Academy will host the 5th episode of the Learn, Create and Grow series on Matchmove. In this webinar, Mohit will explain how Matchmove can be used as a tool for adding CG elements, recreating 3D cameras, and identifying backgrounds and foregrounds in a video. The webinar will also provide a step-by-step guide to two-dimensional tracking, camera solving, undistorting the plate, and matching it for the final shot.

About the Speaker 

With over 13 years of experience in the VFX industry, Mohit Walia is a trainer at the Technicolor Creative Studios Academy. He began his career as an FX artist and moved to Matchmove in 2010. His experience includes set supervision for shoots involving LIDAR scanning and meshing. Matchmove gave him a strong understanding of cameras and the ability to capture all those differing experiences into digital images. Mohit has worked on acclaimed movies such as Dune, Justice League, The Matrix, Fast & Furious 9, Venom, Ghostbusters, No Time to Die, Wonder woman, Grey Hound, Hobbs & Shaw. Mohit enjoys traveling and experiencing different cuisines from around the world. 

The Academy webinars aim to promote more diversity among the next generation of graduates entering the VFX and animation field. It’s free and open to artists who have just graduated from VFX programs at institutes and entry-level employees at production companies!
