It’s been an exciting month full of new releases, awards, events, and teasers. From being shortlisted at The Shark Awards for M.I.A’s “Popular” music video in the “best international music video” category, to a BAFTA award win in the Special, Visual & Graphic Effects category, as well as several new teaser trailers from Crater, to Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. Here’s what April looked like for our studios.
MPC
Kicking off with a major achievement for MPC as they’re awarded a BAFTA for HBO’s House of the Dragon. An incredibly proud moment for all artists, production crew and support teams around the world recognized in the Best Special Visual & Graphic Effects category.
There’s an array of new trailer releases for MPC projects to look forward to, from Crater, The Last Voyage of the Demeter, and Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. As well as a first look into some exciting projects in production Prehistoric Planet 2, Kraven the Hunter and Napoleon.
It’s confirmed that our MPC Paris team will attend the 2023 Cannes Film Festival with three films in the Official Competition and Un Certain Regard selection. Le Règne Animal, La Passion de Dodin Bouffant and l’Anatomie d’une Chute.
The Mill
This month The Mill was recognized for their creative work as Singer M.I.A’ s ‘Popular’ music video was shortlisted at the Kinsale Shark Award. This project combined artificial intelligence, DeepFake, motion, shoot, 3D, and more to create singer M.I.A and director Arnaud Bresson vision.
Several new ads were released, from Tag Heuer’s 60th anniversary film ‘Carrera‘, to the beloved Bubl making unexpected appearances in O2’s ‘Switch Up‘ campaign, and Apple’s latest Apple Watch campaign crafted by our Shanghai studio.
