July was a trailblazing month packed with award wins, sensational trailers, long-awaited releases & exciting industry events. At Technicolor Group, we revealed Our Narrative as we prepare to celebrate 110 years of innovation and creativity, and announced our strategic expansion into Experiential Entertainment.
MPC showcased their unbeatable talent with a series of stunning showreels and celebrated the magnificent conclusion to a series with the release of Vikings: Valhalla Season 3. The Mill have been tasked with creating a realistic Elvis using AI for the upcoming Elvis Evolution thanks to our partnership with Layered Reality. Mikros Animation are gearing up for an epic adventure with the release of the Ozi, Voice of the Forest trailer, and Technicolor Games kicked off their series of exciting industry events with Develop:Brighton.

Team MPC have released not one, not two, but four mind-blowing showreels, showcasing just some of their incredible craft worldwide. Check out them out in all their glory, or tune into the MPC 2024 Showreel for a sneak peek ?

Speaking of Vikings: Valhalla… all three seasons, for which MPC provided epic visual effects, hit the global top 10 on Netflix.
IndieWire released its predictions for the 2025 Best Visual Effects Oscar, and both Mufasa: The Lion King and Young Woman and the Sea are seen as top contenders.

The Mill
Layered Reality, the UK’s leading immersive entertainment company and creators of forthcoming immersive experience Elvis Evolution, have signed an exciting strategic partnership agreement with the Technicolor Group. This partnership will be executed via our incredible advertising and experience studio, The Mill.
As one of the earliest pioneers of VFX for icon replacements, The Mill will be tasked with creating the most realistic & authentic Elvis using AI.

In this month’s project releases, we saw featured:
100 years after the first Olympic Games in Paris, The Mill Paris teams rekindle the flame of memories and offer an enchanting journey to the land of games: those we loved as children as well as those that bring together the greatest athletes. Five rings, five sports, and timeless mechanisms all driven by a shared passion for play and togetherness.
‘Everything or Nothing’ is an intense, gripping promo film for the long-awaited boxing match between Terence Crawford and Israil Madrimov.
Featuring multiple full-CG environments, built by our Design team, and incorporating live-action plates of our furry friends. An in-house colour grade and edit tied up the full service offered by our talented teams.
Mill+ Director Lisha Tan has been named one of Variety‘s 2024 Top 10 Animators to Watch! This recognition showcases her talent in creating captivating characters and narratives that are both thought-provoking and emotionally moving.

July saw the official trailer for Ozi, Voice of the Forest swing into our lives! ? Follow Ozi, an orphan orangutan with influencer skills, as she leads the charge against deforestation. ? Don’t miss this star-studded film featuring Amandla Stenberg, Djimon Hounsou, RuPaul, Donald Sutherland, and more!
A truly captivating tale from Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way Productions and GCI Film, directed by Tim Harper. Mikros Animation is proud to have overseen the creative development and CGI animation with over 300 experts worldwide.
Ozi, Voice of the Forest swings into UK cinemas on August 16, 2024. It’s also coming to the Netherlands on August 14, Italy on September 19, and more countries soon! Stay tuned.
Mikros Animation showcased their incredible work on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem at SIGGRAPH 2024. The team were proud to present two talk sessions and a production session, spotlighting the innovative techniques and creative processes behind the making of the film.

It’s that time of the year again… It’s time to get excited about summer gaming events. For Technicolor Games, Develop:Brighton and Gamescom are the first on this summer’s menu.
Technicolor Games’ Business Development Manager for Europe, Kasim Rehman, took some time out of his busy schedule to talk event expectations, weigh in on industry morale, and give us a teaser into Gamescom preparations.
Technicolor Games’ talented Animator, Jason Abby George, has been with us for over two years and has received a number of well-deserved accolades both inside and outside of working hours. One such career highlight was his selection into the Unreal Fellowship: Animation program by Epic Games, in recognition of his impressive personal artwork ?
