In a recent LinkedIn Live event, Stéphanie Fougou, Technicolor’s General Counsel and CSR leader, provided insights into the Group’s extensive initiatives aimed at creating positive impacts on our planet and its people. With ambitious goals on the horizon, here’s how Technicolor is shaping a more sustainable and inclusive future. Watch the full event replay for the complete story.
Sustainability in Focus: Technicolor’s Climate Vision
Technicolor has set a target to reduce its sites’ carbon emissions by 95% by 2030. With over 87% of our electricity sourced from low-carbon sources and 80% from fully renewable sources, we’re making substantial progress. In 2023 alone, we reduced direct carbon emissions by more than 60% compared to 2022. Our efforts aren’t just about reaching targets; they’re about setting a leadership example within the industry. With a carbon footprint that has steadily declined to 5 tons of site emissions per million euros of revenue in 2023, Technicolor is well on track to achieve its 2030 goals, proving that sustainability and growth can coexist. Additionally, we aim to reduce the carbon emissions linked to our purchases of services and equipment by 40%. A particular focus has been placed on emissions from data centers, which currently account for only 6% of our third-party carbon emissions.
Our ultimate goal is to reach carbon neutrality by 2050, or sooner if possible. Achieving this will require a collective effort and likely involve carbon capture solutions to address any remaining emissions.
Building Skills for Tomorrow’s Creative Leaders
For us, sustainability is not only environmental; it’s about sustaining talent. In 2023, Technicolor delivered nearly 400,000 hours of training to over 2,700 employees in creative roles across VFX, animation, and more. By investing in talent development, we are strengthening our teams, enriching the creative industry, and supporting local economies. This focus on skill development ensures our workforce is prepared for the future, making Technicolor a resilient and forward-looking company.
Fostering Diversity for a Stronger Workforce
Diversity lies at the core of Technicolor’s ethos, driving creativity and innovation across our global teams. Currently, 21.7% of our workforce is comprised of women, and we are committed to increasing this to 30% by 2030. By fostering a dynamic and inclusive culture, we leverage diverse perspectives to tackle complex challenges. Diversity isn’t just a goal; it’s our strength in a world where adaptability is essential.

As we look to the future, Technicolor’s commitment shines brighter than ever. But our ambitions extend even further—we’re building a workplace where diversity thrives, where every voice contributes to groundbreaking innovation, and where talent is nurtured to redefine creativity on a global scale.
